SRAM Guide RSC Brakeset

Post by DHgnaR on Sat Apr 02, 2016 12:41 pm

These are in great shape and have very limited use. They came stock on my YT Tues and were quickly replaced with Codes. I'm estimating less than a week's worth of riding on them. The pads have plenty of life and the "stock" resin pads were replaced with some OEM metallic pads for more bite. I likely have the original resin pads lying around somewhere if you want them, too. Same with hardware and possibly even some rotors.

Not sure how long the hoses are but they're off a large DH bike so likely will fit yours, I can measure if it's a concern of yours.

Looking for $150 (on PB of $190)

What makes the Codes a step up over these? Just wanted the tech knowledge on the avid line.

I think it's mostly a feel thing - and they're two different lines. Personally, I think the Codes have more of the instant on feel of Shimano and the Guides have more of the modulation of the Elixer. Main difference between Guide and Elixer being that the Guide will actually stop you, and it's much easier to bleed.

Wrong,

the answer is bigger, bigger pads means more contact, bigger pistons means more power, bigger capacity means more heat tolerance, and that's just the calipers....which are bigger.

I love the guide levers, but the code calipers are far better for dh, overkill for lesser riding

many pro's are running mix matches of code calipers with guide levers, though im sure the code system is better engineered than the mix match

Hilarious. YOUR wife and mine must be sisters. My wife also asked me if I think her sister is pretty. I said only, "if I don't pull her hair."....
