All Mountain Cyclery's Mob n Mojave

Post by Downhill Mike on Mon Jan 27, 2014 6:25 am

The All Mountain Cyclery Mob n Mojave will be the 2nd event of the Bootleg Canyon Gravity Series. Open practice will begin with shuttle service on Friday February 14th and will follow with the Super D race on Saturday. Saturday will also include the DH Pro/Junior X seeding run. The main DH race will take place on Sunday February 16th at 11:00 am followed with the Open Chainless DH race. An awards ceremony will wrap up this 2nd of 3 gravity fueled weekends.

Early registration opens on Monday January 27th. Pros will have a guaranteed $2,500.00 cash purse for the Downhill race! New for this event: if you register for both the Downhill and Super D, you will have 3 days of shuttle service. Registration, pictures, videos and great deals on lodging can be found on the official event website: www.downhillmike.com . And as always, there is plenty of free camping right at the venue with bathroom and shower facilities!
Register early and save!

Attention West Coast Pro Downhillers.
This can be your chance to help make some much needed changes for west coast DH mountain bike races. We (promoters for the Bootleg Canyon Winter Gravity Series) just put up a $2,500.00 pro cash purse for our next event, the All Mountain Cyclery Mob n Mojave on February 14th thru February 16, 2014. This is a risky move for us to make, but if at least 24 more pros race at the Mob than we had at the KHS 2014 Nevada State Champs, it will be a good risk. If we do not attract more pros, it will be difficult, if not impossible to continue putting up the pro cash purse. However, if we exceed those numbers, we will not hesitate to continue with pro cash purses, and even make the amount larger. Heck, we will put up $10,000.00 or more if enough pros show up.
Please help us make a difference.
Downhill Mike and Bootleg Race Crew.

I can attest to these events being the best in the southwest. I have been to every Downhill Mike event in the last two years at bootleg canyon
They are well organised, well run, and just a blast to compete in. Not to mention sweet prizes if you win! I picked up some nice Kali elbow pads last year.

I think the 29er is gonna get some bootleg dirt on it this weekend Wink I'll practice with the 29er first since I already know how the DH will handle the course.....and then decide which bike I am going to race with. Should be interesting :)

Your crazy if you think you can win on the 29er on this course Lugo! Dont let the tiniy uphill sections fool you. The high speed rocky sections are no joke. You will be getting buck wild even on the DH bike for sure.

Ended up taking a little fall on my race run but still pulled in at 6th place. Less than 3 seconds away from 3rd and about 8.5 seconds from 2nd. The guy that got 1st is ridiculously fast lol.

Here's my race run:
