OR.....don't get one at all because a law recently passed that they can't charge to park. I believe this only applies to national forests not State or regional parks

"A federal judge recently ruled that the U.S. Forest Service can only charge people for the use of amenities, such as bathrooms, developed parking lots, campgrounds and picnic tables. Requiring that visitors have a $5 daily or $30 annual Adventure Pass simply to park near a trailhead violates a law aimed at ensuring free access to federal land."

What? Never heard of anyone getting a ticket there. Just pull up to the bottom of the lift if that's an issue. Can't touch you when you're on the resort.

Ya I got a couple of tickets a little over a year ago and I never paid them. Its funny how the signs are still up and they still ticket people. I guess some people pay them.

On the FIRST trip to Waterman a few years ago....we stopped at the restaurant on the way to buy a pass and they said they didn't have any, but that we shouldn't worry...the cost of the ticket is the same as the daily pass........but then again...I drove my van all the way up to the warming house so I didn't really give them a chance to give me a ticket....wonder if my Soul will make it up there? The road to the warming hut has been graded again. An Elantra and Prius made it up easy.

You missed the point of the post there Colin.  That "rough ride" you're talking about, was the reason why the road was graded.  It is NOW easy.  NOT a rough ride since the grading. That was done the weekend after your bike fall off incident. I guess you never got word of that.

Ive seen them ticketing cars still . Im scared to park at the bottom of waterman every time. Since I'm always getting a ride up , I'm always scared it might be the last time I use that person for a ride. Also seen tickets on cars getting to Mt Wilson.
The road up to the hut is ok . Cars could make it . There is one pretty bad spot. It's a big boulder sticking out . You can maneuver around it tho. We should probably think about making a spot at the bottom inside the gate to park cars. Just a thought.
